Fresh Fish from a Clean Ocean

High quality seafood all year around

We specialise in pelagic fishing and offer high quality products made from capelin, blue whiting, mackerel and herring that we catch in the cold, fresh waters of the North Atlantic surrounding Iceland. We also catch fresh haddock and cod along the coast of Iceland all year around. Our fish processing plant in Eskifjörður has a processing capability of 900 tons per day.

Capelin

The capelin is a pelagic fish that spawns in shallow waters. It is commonly found in the cold waters of the northern hemisphere. Four independent capelin stocks live in the North Atlantic and Barents Sea and the Icelandic capelin is one of them. We produce frozen whole capelin and also use it for the production of roe as well as meal and oil.

Mackerel

The mackerel is found in both temperate and tropical seas, mostly living along the coast or offshore in the oceanic environment. It spawns from May to July and then migrates in schools north towards Iceland looking for food. We produce whole frozen mackerel while also offering it headed and in fillets as well as using it for the production of fish meal and oil.

Herring

Herring is one of the most common fish in the northern hemisphere and is found all around Iceland. It is a forage fish that often moves in large schools in shallow, temparate waters near the coastline. We produce whole frozen herring and fillets as well as using it to produce fish meal and oil.

Blue Whiting

The blue whiting is a species of white fish belonging to the cod family. It is commonly found in the North East Atlantic, or from Svalbard to Morocco. We catch it in the fisheries that run along the sourthern shore of Iceland. We use it to produce fish meal and oil.

Haddock

The haddock lives in the North Atlantic and is common all around Iceland, especially close to the southern coast. We specialise in the production of various fresh haddock products as well as offering those same products individually quick frozen. During the first half of the year we catch the haddock along the southern coast of Iceland before moving to the east coast during the second half of the year.

Fish meal and oil

We produce high quality fish meal and oil from the byproducts that are created as a result of our processing of the herring, capelin, mackerel and blue whiting, for example fish skin, spines and innards. The oil and meal is mainly used to produce fish feed. Our fish meal plant has a production capacity of 1.000 tons a day.
